Skipped 2 years…

Just noticed the last post was 2018. God has time flied! Our grandson is now 4 1/2 and a new granddaughter has been added to the family. Just yesterday we got our youngest off our car insurance policy too. There was something a little sad about that.

We are now in the end of 2020 and what was so great about this place has changed significantly. Where we couldn’t wait for summer, we now have decided to rent out our home for some extra cashola! Rentals are a hot commodity here and our home although not very updated, commands a good weekly rent. Last summer we high-tailed it out of here and had one of the best summers ever down in Asheville, North Carolina with our youngest.

Since 2018 two of the neighbors that we were having sooo much fun with in the off-season have left. One through a death and the other well, aging out of a big house and $1.25 mil. Through the COVID virus we are finding out that there are people out there with lots of money who are fleeing the cities where people are stacked on top of each other and more likely to spread germs. Many of whom are really interested in spending more days at the ocean breathing in incredibly fresh air, but still not full time. For many these homes are still secondary.

Our friends who left just this week have left us with a giant black hole of feelings about living in a town which is basically vacant for the majority of time we will be spending here. And that leaves us with me, my spouse and LBI to rediscover again during a pandemic when many businesses and restaurants are closed and while our own business has basically been through a major transition from a vibrant in-person consulting business to an online and virtual platform. This could be all good.
